Essence Equine, located out of Dover, NH, was founded in February 2025 by Dr. Alyssa Keto out of a deep-rooted love for equine veterinary medicine. Dr. Keto was raised on a small agricultural farm in rural Nebraska. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with honors at Kansas State University in 2006. She then continued on to attend Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Dr. Keto completed a one-year internship at Myhre Equine Clinic and then continued on as an associate veterinarian there, focusing on ambulatory services. Dr. Keto is passionate about providing clients with the veterinary services unique to horses out in the field and brings with her years of experience in equine health, medicine, and lameness.
